Does my child need Dental Sealants?
Carrera Dental and Braces dentists believe in preventive dentistry first. Sealants are one of the best preventive measures used to prevent tooth decay in children. Sealants have been shown to reduce the risk of decay by nearly 80% in molars. Sealants are like raincoats for your teeth. Plastic resin is placed over the healthy tooth to prevent decay in the hard to clean areas. When your child starts to get their permanent teeth around the age of 6 is when our dentists will prescribe dental sealants as a preventive treatment. In some cases, a dentist may prescribe this preventive treatment over early decay to prevent further decay.
Our team will always ensure that during dental treatment your child is comforatble and safe. There will be a TV above the chair they can watch while getting dental sealants completed. In most cases, Nitrous Oxide (N2O) will be used to relax our patients.
To schedule an appointment for your child’s Sealants today with one of our dentists please contact our team at Carrera Dental and Braces.
